You've come too far for your business to get lost in the sea of sameness.
(And respectfully, you deserve better than beige.)
It's time to turn up the heat and turn some head's with values-led branding.
This is for the dreamers and disruptors who are tired of being told they're "too much" to fit neatly into boxes and are ready to crank up the volume on who they are and what they believe.
BTW, I believe that inclusivity is the bare minimum.
If you don’t believe in human rights for all, you can go kick rocks. Full stop. Your brand should reflect your values in ways that are clear, embodied, and leave loaf-sized breadcrumbs for the people who get it.
Brand Designer for Creative Businesses
You're not a summer Olympian are you? I didn't think so. So why are you spending so much time doing mental gymnastics trying to figure out the perfect way to look "professional" when all that leads to is a brand that's sure to blend in with everyone else?
When I started my business over a decade ago, I was in that exact same place. I had felt like I really knew who I was and what I stood for when mentors told me I was too multi-passionate (and "too much" in general) to be taken seriously...and because I was young and impressionable, I focused all my energy on making myself more palatable in the name of professionalism.
It was, in short, a nightmare.
But what is "professional" anyway and who benefits from that definition being upheld?
(Spoiler: it's not you unless you're a cishet white dude)
After a lot of unlearning, I finally reclaimed all the parts of me I was told to polish away and instead put them on full display. It changed my life and business for the better. I've since helped everyone from solorpreneurs to non-profits to billion dollar corporations disrupt their industries through values-led and human-centered branding.
(Speaking of which, I'm a human! Here's the scoop on who I am ⤵️)
Let's make the fine print big:
BLACK LIVES MATTER
No human is illegal on stolen land
LGBTQIA+ RIGHTS = HUMAN RIGHTS 🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️
Starting a business is political. Use yours to change the world.

I love bright colors, being social, and meeting new people...and I'm also obsessed with Halloween, horror movies, and my favorite bands in middle school were Slipknot and System of a Down. We all contain multitudes.
-
Sci-fi is my jam because it helps me envision new futures (which might also explain why social justice oriented books are a close second favorite). I've also been known to pick up a horror or thriller title on occasion too.

I've been told i have the personality of a golden retriever, but ironically, I've never had a golden retriever of my own so I'll have to take y'alls word for it. I do, however, have two adorable rescue dogs named Avery and Oskar (both named for breweries in Colorado).

In high school, I convinced my friends to start a ska band with me (which is living proof that I’ve been committed to standing out—for better or worse—and that’s KEY to building a strong brand).

I'm from the Midwest (Chicago suburbs and later Wisconsin). My tinfoil hat theory is that anyone who has ever lived in the Midwest has a secret ability to sniff out other Midwesterners. I very rarely talk about where I grew up, and yet I am constantly finding myself in spaces and places talking to folks who turn out to have lived just a few miles from me!

The movie that consumed me in my youth was Toys (starring Robin Williams), and it really explains a lot about me 😂 If you've seen this movie, let me know because anytime I bring it up in conversation, no one knows what I'm talking about! lol
